Lets see the list of unusual countries.
No member of the "300 countries club" gets coins from countries in black
Then in decreasing order of difficulty, colors switch down to the purple haze.
Only one member doesn't own a purple country, so, they are easier to catch
Update October 24th
407 countries ( 9 with no collector, 149 with at least one collector, 249 in common )
New entries: Belgium-feudal, Celtic Britain, Hispania
One collector gets Frisia . What a performance, cause there are so many coins to sell labelled "Frisia" which are not from it. "Frisia" is differently understood by everyone.
Still only one owner for "South Sudan". These coins doesn't seem to have been massively distributed until now. They probably get other fish to fry.
Frenchlover, thank you for posting the update to the "Countries Owned List".
You are absolutely right about Frisia. When you search "frisia" almost all results are for Friesland, West Frisia, etc. It took awhile but I was finally lucky enough to find a coin that was already listed under Frisia in the Numista catalog.
have dropped down to 299 (dropped out of 300 club)so had to go out and buy st Helena coin (1981 wedding) to bring it back up to 300level- do not like adding these tokens but had no choice- does anyone know what country was removed in last couple of weeks
what happened to original thread(300 club) , and thread about gabe- never thought i would get ripped off by guy in USA (prob TRUMPS mate)

My friend, I fear your "Phoenician cities" coin docked in Rome ...
and the 300 countries club original thread is now too fat and needs to retire.
Hi yes - you are right -------------I have lost Phoenician cities coin to ancient Rome
I have a separate album for my 300 country collection- so have to manually edit collection-- I wish they could tell us when they make changes and also justify

Didn't you see my PM? I told you I moved your Phoenician coin.
And I'm afraid to say I may do the same with your Gaul coin, seems too much Romanized.

Sorry I did not receive the PM before I had noticed that you had removed coin- I consider you have made a mistake, and do not understand your motives in removing one and investigating another- It cost me a fortune to obtain the Gaul coin, purely to reach 300 countries .
Phoenicia and Gaul were fully part of the Empire when these coins were minted. This explains why I would consider them as Roman Provincial.

The antique world, with emperors and kings, can't be compared to modern wars and governments. Moreover, Rman provinces were created especially for those Roman ruled territories with specific coinage. Should we put, for example, Egyptian coinage (Roman Egypt, Ptolemaic Egypt and last Pharaohs Egypt...) or Carthage coinage all together? Should be split back Moesia, Roman Greek territories or anything else? And I don't speak about Indo-Greek and subsequent coinages...
Antique coinage has always been messy, and will continue this way for a few time. Xavier himself consider Numista less and less fitting for more and more ancient coinage.
Anyway the best way to "secure" an antique country is to find an unmovable territory and minting period. A potin made before the Gaul Wars, for example (except Massalia and Mediterranean coast).

This may be an interesting remark... A new way to organize antique coinage by minting territory instead of grouping them unconsistently. The only exception should be the purely Roman-type coinage, especially since the Diocletian reform banning local coinages.

hi- I did not say anything about organising by mintage- i reckon that a coin produced for use in GAUL (even if occupied) should remain in the GAUL folder
And according to the logic of this thread, after reception of your coin from Togo, the next country to investigate might be China - Japanese puppet states ...

no, it's relative to the invasion of the "land of the long white cloud", by the French to replace sheep with wine and champagne
yes--- they did try, but the british sent them scuttling off === and we have better wine than them as well- and the all blacks are world champions haha
Malay Peninsula in other words Malay sultanates uniface old coins, even though it spills over Sumatra, should get a renewed popularity

I can see it. But do not forget we are experiencing a hard pic erase bug forcing us to update regularly pics like the colorful list.

Thanks.
At the biguining I did the race with AL LOUARN for the 10000 coins and the number of countries.
But now it's finished.
It's very difficult and expansive to have a new country.
Sometime I am lucky.
Now I concentrate me only on my preferences
Rgds.

Courland also received, waiting on a determination if this is going to be a new country.
Duchy of Courland was a northern fief of the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth. It established a colony in Tobago in 1637 and on St. Andrews Island at the Gambia River in 1651.
A request was sent to the site owner for Courland to be listed as a new country. I personally don't care where Courland ends up but it would be nice to have it entered somewhere.
A debate has opened in order to merge 2 countries, making them remaining as a double listing as are GB/UK because of the same countries with 2 names: Ceylon & Sri Lanka.
One of the reasons it's better to ensure your membership by buying additional countries after reaching the 300 country level.

Hello,
I've noted on your interesting website that you get some interest for banknotes, you might be a member of the 200 banknotes country club as well
Hi everybody ,
i am also a countries coins collector, until now i have 303 different countries, just they are not all registred on my numista account, so i can appear on the list of 300 countries club ?

While I myself am not in the 300 countries club, I never realised I was in the 3/4 owners club- with the countries of Danish India and Kiau-Chau. I also happen to own coins from countries of all the tiers beneath 3/4.

Well, this has made my day!
When I'll join the club, I'll claim 6 countries of 5/6 owners at my best for now. However South Sudan will be quite easy to fill.

Seems the USD:MXN exchange rate is stabilizing but for now since most of the countries I am missing are a pain in the arse I'll stick to my cheaper hobbies that bring me near as much fun to collect, manage and share them with my nephews. But hopefully will be back to country-hunting soon now that there are some cheaper targets... Buuuut as always with new additions I'll quarentine them before buying any as they can get tossed around and end under another existing domain or maybe survive and stand alone.

For information we're working on some changes in a medieval Netherlands catalog reform, which may lead at least to one or two new countries/renames.

Just a comment on these coins from the XVI and XVII century related to the county of Reckheim which are currently listed under Spanish Netherlands or Dutch Republic should be gathered in the German state Reckheim of the Lower Rhenish–Westphalian Circle
My previous requests get no effect
County which was bought from the Principality of Liege, another member of the Westphalian Circle.
Would this one be merged with Liege, like my Principality of Phalsbourg-Lixheim in Lorraine? Another possibility.

Would it be possible to reach 300 countries if you only collect silver? I think I'm at 76 countries right now, and could easily reach 100 if I spent some more money, but 300?
Quote: "Jarcek"Just small note - some of you may noticed some change, as few coins (of Golden Horde) were moved from Crimea to Mongol Empire where they belonged.
Sounds good - since it's correct! Who put them in Crimea in the first place?
Modification history is one of the most buggy thing here. Two of them do not say who authorized it, and third says that I did - on the date it was moved, which is nonsense.

Didn't you hear that the (modern) golden horde annexed Crimea ?
