This is a new version of game discover the object. However instead of the item being a random object it has to be a famous international landmark, building, area, or other well known things for example the Statue of Liberty
It will be the same rules as the other game:
1. Only 'Yes' or 'No' answers allowed.
2. Winner chooses next object.
3. Multiple guesses may be asked at one time.
My item is found in a hot climate,
built with a type of stone and is very tall.
I am not certain if it is famous, but if I may:
This mountain is home to a unique mode of transport in its city as well as a world-renowned scenery that can be seen in [the region/country of the mountain's] local currency.
Goddamn it, I had exactly that in mind but I didn't get back in time to say it!
Although to be honest I also thought it could have been that other mountain in Hong Kong with the Buddha statue.....
Unfortunately, it does not appear on its local currency
However since I don't have much time I can spare to administer the next round, I'd like to pass the baton to either SRL/CassTaylor. Any one of you, please do the honor on my behalf.
Thank you SRL

This landmark is a castle built in the 16th century; it was used first as a fortress then as a prison, and now it still stands as a tourist attraction.

Is this river the Danube, or maybe the Rhine?
YES to one of the rivers

Indeed, it was going to be my guess too:
Yes, true. One of the symbol of Bratislava (capital of Slovakia): SNP bridge or UFO bridge as it is called also. Movie: Transformers, episode in one of parts.

What is this city in which lives a well known Numista member who recently resurrected and where you can find such leaning houses. No doubt to better enjoy the sun!
You're right
A bit like the Hardknott Pass that I crossed by car in Cumbria. The recipe is simple: attack the slope of the montain straight out, and you enter the Guinness World Records

This monument is in a European capital city, it is made mostly of white marble, and has a small museum inside.

The Vittorio Emmanuele II Monument in Rome?
Goddamit stop reading my mind!
Yes, it is Il Vittoriano, in Rome. They tore down an entire Renaissance era neighbourhood on the Capitoline Hill to build it between 1882 and 1911, and at the end of the day Romans gave it unflattering nicknames like "the wedding cake" and "the typewriter".
I like it, though; kind of like a lesser-know hipster alternative to the Parisian Arc de Triomphe, when you consider the WWI battles it honours on the second level.

Your turn!
Hard to believe the Romans don't like it. I think it's beautiful. Thanks for sharing.

Rode a pushbike up Hardknott pass once and back down ,
Never Again! .
people talking without speaking, people hearing without listening
Sources describe it as being "gaudy" and "conspicuous", since it was all white marble in a sea of brown brick houses; and the back is much less impressive too:
But seriously @SRL how did you get it on the first try? I can think of at least a dozen monuments across Europe that could have fit the hint I gave!
It is a gigantic construction built in the last quarter of the twentieth century, a symphony celebrates its excessiveness and somehow the link between the beauty of nature and human engenuity.
Yes indeed ! Bravo
