Guinea is sometimes known as 'Guinea-Conakry' to distinguish it from Guinea-Bissau.

Another country name that causes confusion is 'Congo' - Congo (Brazzaville) & Congo (Kinshasa).

Doesn't it make it even more similar by adding "Conakry" after Guinea? :|

And now adays we say Republic of the Congo (Congo Rep.) and Democratic Republic of the Congo (Dem. Rep. Congo) for the two Congos.

Anyways, Conakry is non-existent.

On to D!
Does anyone know where the next thread is?
Quote: "ALLRED1950"Does anyone have any notes from Alderney? I don't.

Alderney did have a banknote - a very rare 1 Pound dated 1810 that was issued by the Alderney Commercial Bank.

The Alderney postal order listed up on Banknotebank is the one that is actually in my collection.

Aidan.
Thank you very much BCNumismatics for the information on the Alderney 1 pound note. There has been a lot of old threads popping up again. Iam still putting my ducks in a row. And can only play here a little . But do really enjoy reading .

CoinCollector1243 I don't think we started the next thread for this . Maybe with bank notes now in Numista it is time to make anew one. Start it over again. I don't have the time or energy to take care of a thread. If someone wants to start a new one that would be great .
It is, what it is, or is it.

Here a few:

So we only need U-W and X-Z.
There are no countries with names starting with 'X'.

wow have I been out of it for some time. All you guys have done a great job with the banknote catalog.
