Sorry, it is like I am president, I am totally incompetent and I am getting the credit for all of jokinen's hard work, I tried this like you said, can someone explain it a bit more in depth?
Taking a break from swapping for a while, but still interested in pre 1799 Spanish coins, I will make time for that!

A perfect Mr. Presidente then. Just text him and tell him about this post so he doesn't get any hard feelings and tries to overthrow our Presidente.

No, I would rather claim that the whole (World Coin Chat) was my idea, then he could set up a bloody coup, and y'all could have a commemorative coin to celebrate the event.

Or do what most politicians do when the President/Dictator is overthrown; steal everything that isn't nailed to the floor (aka your coins

Now moved.
And added to summary list.
And the other three countries also added.

Of course! Numista is a contribution site, so what better for each country that to have a link to a forum with information about it coming from the people who knows them.

Now that there are two continents, you should divide the list with headers in Bold letters
AMERICA
All their links here
AFRICA
All the current and future links here
And once you reach another continent do the same.

Let's prepare already for new continents... We'll continue with Europe first, followed by Asia and, last but not least, Oceania.

Nah, Europe last, no one cares about 'Yurop Might be good to place it last because it is the one with the biggest coinage history, and the one that influenced most of the rest of the World with their coinage, either by force or by imitation. Also, there are a LOT or countries, territories and temporal city-states there. Oceania on the other hand should be a breeze. Asia has also a long coinage history, but not as complex as Europe's.

Actually, I don't want to critique but I have lost pace with you, so I wouldn't say you're late.

If it's all right, I would like to post the threads for some of the Asian countries without as much ancient history (Pakistan, Malaysia, the Koreas, etc.).

Not sure these territories have so few ancient history (like pre-Joseon Korea or Alexander the Great in Pakistan), but with a few research it's ok for me ^^ just let me French Indochina, Cambodia, Laos and French Cochinchina/Tonkin/Southern Vietnam/Vietnam

All agreed guys. Any help is welcome. I am about to move house (yes, that involves taking the collection as well and finding loads of stuff not encountered for years) so not much time at the moment. The next topic for me is Jordan. I am just wondering where to include the Nabataean Kingdom.
Quote: jokinenAh I see that Jordan was already done :-)
Just add it to the Jordan topic ^^
I forgot, I'll take charge of Lebanon/Phoenicia & Syria as both under French mandate.

Can we follow with the Arabic Peninsula, to let me some time to finish French colonies in Africa before starting the French mandates in Middle-East? After treating these last ones we may include Crusader states, which extended from modern Israel to actual Lebanon, Syria, Turkey & Cyprus, and Islamic Caliphates, to introduce later Iraq/Mesopotamia.

EDIT: Try again - I wrote that the new editor does not work, as I tried to put Oman in, like all the others I have added, and it repeated loads of countries, and did not display correctly, and now re-editing gives a blank screen so cannot change it, currently.
Even now tried to Quote that original list, and amend it that way (temporarily) in a new reply, but still only shows a blank reply box. Though glad to see right-click Paste has now been allowed.
In the middle of the list
Nigeria & Biafra / Oman / Palestine
is how it should appear, and so on. Xavier help !!

You are very welcome to contribute. As I lately got only limited response I was wondering whether people were still reading the newly added WCC topics. Also feel free to add anything to the existing topics.
Quote: "dptashny"I'll start with Russia, Ukraine, and the Baltics (and then I'll go west until Iceland).
Looking forward to that. Next on my list is the mysterious Tannu Tuva.
Btw, was looking at Russian Caucasus but to me that just looks like Russian Civil War emergency coinage from the town of Armavir near Krasnodar, east of Crimea. It is indeed close to the Caucasus, but not in the Caucasus. I don't think these coins deserve their own topic unless it's called 'Russian provisional coin issues'. Do you know anything about these?

Quote: "chomp-master"Any plans for antique nations?
Any nation specifically in mind? The catalogue for antique coins from before any national state even existed is at some points a bit shaky. For example, under Mongol Empire there are only 2 coins listed, but these are from the Golden Horde, a successor empire on the western edge of the vast Mongol Empire that had its own distinct Turkic culture. This might as well have been listed with 'Golden Horde'. There are numerous of such examples. Going over them now will hopefully give us some good ideas in how to reshape the catalogue where needed.
I think we're going to some large groups of people in antique periods. We'll have ancient Rome & Roman Provinces, Gaul, ancient Greece... As recently done this would require a separate treatment, and maybe joint all together as antique coinage from Europe.

Dptshany, can you please explain me where you write all of this because I can help you guys with India. Do you write it as a separate post for each country and then bring the url to the wcc.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

You can click the links on the first port for each country. He is following the map, and India is pretty close to be created. Each country has their own thread and are added here to be able to go to the ones you want without having to search for them as this thread is a sticky post at the top of the forum. Once he publishes India you can surely go and post a comment with additional information; that is what most users do for the countries they know about.

Feel free to start your own WCC topic for India. I must admit I avoided it a bit as I am by far not as knowledgable as some of our Indian friends on Numista. India has such an enormous numismatic history that it could only be done by an expert.
Would you prefer to split between Indian empires & states and another on British India & Republic?

How sad that a quite impartial and well researched article is being constantly destroyed by misplaced jingoism. I don't often comment on the articles as they are usually quite comprehensive and there is nothing to add except a specific request for more information. But I read each and every one and learn much from them.
We should be applauding the effort that goes into them not rehashing age old boundary disputes. It's not like anyone is going to change their mind!
