Hello everyone. If i may, i would like to request to you all to help me classify my item. I did try some researches but i couldnt find a perfect match. It weighs approximately 25.37 grams and a 41 mm diameter.it has that “ R “ mintmark on the obverse and reverse . making it more difficult  for me to find a match.

i simply wanted this to be identified because i want to add this item to my collection on my numista profile.

i wanted to make sure that i posted it to where it should belong.

i really do appreciate all the effort and consideration on this matter.

again, thanking you all in advance.

Maybe R = Restrike. The coin shown is nothing like the real coin -

the designs both sides are re-drawn. George and Britannia do not look like that.

Apart from which, the coin looks too new, and not 228 years old.

Bonjour

C'est très bas de gamme et quand on compare effectivement avec les photos d'une vraie c'est flagrant

Celui qui pose une question risque de paraître sot pendant cinq minutes, mais celui qui n'en pose pas restera sot toute sa vie.

With due respect  my good Sir, i just simply wanted to seek proper identification for my item. If it happens to be just a replica , as you possibly think ,then i can it post it down to my NUMISTA profile as REPLICA.

At least, it was officially recognized to where it should belong.
lastly, for my good Sir  ALM, i so sorry but its only english that i know aside from my country dialect.

thanking you all again.

Oh dear, again. Do you not know what that first icon is on the Reply box?

I know it now…thanks for teaching me whats its function. I never deny being illiterate on computers.

and i guess its clear too that my specimen coin is a replica of no value.
thats my purpose, to know what i have.

thanking you all again.

It’s a restrike, some auction houses are selling them at the moment for around £7.99p.

thank you for reaching and sharing to my concern. I almost thought it end up as a worthless piece of item.
for all i know, restrike coins arent considered fake. since they were given permission by the original producer. thanking you all again!

It is not an official restrike. It is a reproduction or replica the way this is N#121223 This one says “copy” while yours has the R where the engravers' initials should appear.

Forgive me my good Sir… but im getting more confused. As that records shows , copy penny coins were indeed officially recognized And classified.   And mine, as you noticed have an initial. Which i really thought “R” is for restrike .  If it is an initial, would therefore it be of some reproduction too? ,Or just another replica that wasnt officially recognized?
my thanks again.

You have a poorly made copy. It is worthless as a numismatic item.

Well, its sad but i have no regret at all. Like i said , all i ever wanted is to officially know the identity of what coins i have mainly & before posting them to my profile too.
And the good part is ,its a learning process too.

again, My thanks & appreciation for the time & effort you have shared.

GOD BLESS US ALL!
