Imagone putting together a collection of 365 coins that represent the 365 days of the year. If I were doing this then today's coin would be Peru's 50 soles de oros from 1971 celebrating the 150th anniversary of independence from Spain in 1821.
Birth & death (dying on your birthday must suck. Hope he managed to have the party first 😛) of William Shakespeare. A playwright who needs no introduction as his writings have been boringtaught to children globally for centuries, with his works still frequently performed to the present. Take your pick of Comedy, History, or Tragedy.
Formation of the World Wildlife Fund (WWF). Whilst not the first international nature protective society (I believe that's the IUCN, 1948), it is perhaps the most well known publicly.
The Acts of Union formally create the Kingdom of Great Britain, joining Scotland & England into a single nation. (Also Wales, but it wasn't recognised as independent, just part of England)
The passing of the Slave Trade Act 1807. The document with which the UK prohibited the trading of slaves within the British Empire, and would use it's naval superiority to limit the trading of slaves from Africa to the Americas through the West Africa Squadron (formed 1808) to attempt to force the abolition of slavery outside of the Empire. The Squadron is credited with returning over 150,000 slaves to “freedom” in Africa. Whilst the efficacy of the Act & the squadron are hotly debated, it was a major turning point for the end of large scale slavery in the Western world.
Signing of the Magna Carta; a founding document in British law, with three statutes still enforceable law over 800 years later. The document is also recognised as a predecessor of many nations founding constitutions, including the USA's and the UN Charter.
Formation of the NHS; used as a basis for free national health care across the world & many nations use it's judgements on medicine for their own nation.
Wireless radio transmission across the Atlantic by Marconi. Arguably one of the major parts of telecommunication history proving that “instant” long range wireless communication could be done.
I had also hoped to get the release of the King James Bible; the most common translation of the Bible in English speaking languages but sadly I couldn't find an exact date to use. E.g. First publication date, date of first sale, date the King formally approved it for publication. The latter will probably be unknown as the records for that year (along with a few others) were lost in a fire.
But I'll put it here in case anyone happens to know any of those dates.
“Visegrad Four” or “V4” was set up after a summit meeting of the Heads of State or Government of Czechoslovakia, Hungary and Poland in the castle town of Visegrád, Hungary, on 15 February 1991, mainly for purposes of cooperating in areas of common interest within the process of European integration.

Any chance of someone putting together a calendar of the dates already ticked off?
