Hi,

It appears that numista has marked Aluminum 1 Liras 1968-2001 years  (N#2615) as it was in BU while it was not, several catalogs shows only UNC value and no BU value for example:

Is it Numista error or am I missing something. I have several of these liras in my collection 1970 and 1982 ones.

Catalog used: Standard catalog of world coins, 1901-2000 Krause 2012

BU and UNC are just statements about the condition, not different manufacturing techniques. I would expect any modern uncirculated coin put in a set by a competent mint to be BU.

Hello,

it is basically the same.

SCWC no longer recognizes BU grade.

In the UK, BU stands for Brilliant Uncirculated and is a distinct issue used in sets. Why this column appeared for an Italian coin isn't clear.
