Hello I got this coin a while ago and I was wondering if anyone had any Idea what it’s face value (denomination) is.

The weight is 14 grams, the diameter is 25mm.  On the reverse there is an eagle standing on a thunderbolt with a shield beside (no letters visible around shield, possibly an A or a Greek L, not visible behind tail). The Reverse has greek text around the Eagle reading ΠTOΛEMAIOY BAΣIΛEΩΣ. on the Obverse there is a bust of Zeus-Ammon ( combination Zeus and Amun-Ra)

I was Using this site to see how the weight corresponded to the value and was unable to find anything.

Any help is appreciated.

Hey, I’m sorry about that. I took The picture directly from the site and I hadn’t done that before so I forgot to check if they were zoomed in.

It is a silver or a bronze coin? If silver(verified with special acid, found at a jewelry dealer shop),the weight coresponds to a tetradrachm (around 16g.). The kingdom is ancient Egipt, dynasty of Ptolemee, founded by one of Alexander the Great's generals, after his death and the partition of his huge greek kingdom.

Now I saw that you searched for a bronze coin,so if it is made of bronze the denomination can be a ''diobol''(the weight matches aprox.).

Hello, yes it is bronze

Thank you ZacUK, I’m sorry I didn’t reply earlier. I think it’s the same type, except mine has a shield beside the bird where as that one has a cornucopia beside it. Thanks for your help though.

Thank you AndiPasculescu10 for your help. I really Appreciate it.
