How much does it cost to produce a coin?
It is very interesting to note how much the prices of some metals have increased in recent decades.
A century ago, many nations produced a large number of silver coins.
Today, very populous nations produce more coins in steel or aluminum.
As the population grows, high quality materials become too expensive:
silver coins become nickel, silk pants become cotton, leather shoes become plastic,
mahogany furniture becomes iron ... how much we matter? Is all this good?
