I found in the NUMISTA Catalog the Guatemala 1 Real 1900 - 1912 KM# 177 is mentioned as made out of Nickel!
In my opinion this is a a mix-up, a error!
On the coins is struck "NIQUEL" under the "1 REAL"
This does not mean that the coin is made out of Nickel
In reality the coin were struck in Copper-Nickel (all at Heaton Mint, GB as fare as i know)
People talked about "Nickels" instead of Copper or Silver Coins at that time, not for nothing
The new US 5 Cents pieces were called "Nickels" in the United States since 1866!
All 1 Real Type KM# 177 Coins i found, are made out of Copper-Nickel (as the 1/2 Real 1900/1901, KM#176).
also 1 Real Coins in Silver (KM#174) were still struck in 1900.
All my coins 1 Real KM#177 are non-magnetic and therefore out of Copper-Nickel.

I request to change the composition of the KM#177 coin in the NUMISTA Catalog in to copper-nickel.
Kind regards
Radealex
