I am need of a few foreign coins (I'm in the US) to complete an anniversary project for my wife. I set out to collect every circulated coin struck for production in 1966 from every country in the world (not counting gold). I am down to only 10 coins to finish the collection, but I am having a dickens of a time finding them. I continue to watch Ebay, Coin World, and MA-Shop coins. I'd love any suggestions from you folks where I might find them. I would also be willing to purchase them from you or trade US Coins for them. I need the following:
1966 1 Cent (Perth Mint) - Australia - Taken Care of by a Member (Thanks)!
1966 1 Centavo - Cuba
1966 (1345) 1 Rial - Iran
1966 (1345) 2 Rials - Iran
1966 (2023) 50 Paisa (Small Size) - Nepal
1966 (2023) 1 Rupee - Nepal
1966 10 Kopeks - Soviet Union (Russia)
1966 10 Milliemes - Sudan
1966 1/4 Rupee - Indian Princely State - Bundi
1966 1/2 Rupee - Indian Princely State - Bundi
1966 1 Rupee (square) - Indian Princely State - Bundi
1966 5 Kori - Indian Princely State - Kutch
I don't know how this works as I am new around here (and barely getting any replies whenever I ask anything) and I was never keen on swapping (call me an old paranoid granny if you will), but I might be able to help out, depending on what your deadline is
I do have the Centavo from 1966 (1 piece) which I actually purchased recently from ebay...definitely less than a month ago, so I am surprised that you didn't find any there. I do not care that much about the year, so I wouldn't have an issue swapping it for a different year one with the same design
I might also be able to help you out with the indian ones (I have quite a few from the 60s, potentially the 66 ones as well but not quite sure as I'd have to check - however, it's in my home collection and that is a bit unreachable as of now, hence I am asking about your deadline). Otherwise, a buddy of mine is constantly auctioning coins on ebay and it just happens that this week it seems to be the indian week, so I will ask him if he has any other than the ones listed
Hi. I suggest you go onto the Numista page for each coin and see who has those coins to swap and contact them. Under the ' Members from this site want to exchange it ' list is a link ' See the details of the coins available for swap ' This gives you the years of the coins available for swapping by members.
At a quick glance only one member has the 1966 Soviet 10 kopecks for swapping but 10 or so have 1966 Iranian rial.
ellemerob - Yep, I have been doing that for about six months now and have inquired multiple times about trades. Even offered to purchase them outright but it doesn't appear anybody is interested in a trade. Probably because I didn't list my collection available (too time-consuming to do every single coin). That is why I was looking for a different source. I'll have to keep looking. Thanks for the suggestion.
m1001 - I don't have a rushed deadline, just trying to wrap up this project I've been working on for six months. I have not seen a single Cuban Centavo (pardon the pun) on eBay from 1966. In fact, I hardly see any from any year. I definitely would be interested in trading with you for it but I do not have one. There is one listed on eBay right now, 1943, that I would be willing to buy and trade with you. I would definitely appreciate any help with the Indian Princely State coins too. Just let me know how to approach that.
ZacUK - This is going to sound crazy but I have been using eBay since 1995. I live in the US but have often wondered, are items listed on eBay servers available for search regardless of where you are? Example: I noticed you are from the UK. If I run a search from the US would it turn up items listed on eBay.co.uk? Or would I have better luck switching to that country's eBay and looking there? Does that question make sense?

eBay results are different for different countries. One way to expand the search is to select "worldwide" in the "item location" but this still does not guarantee it'll show all results. Also note that when accessing foreign eBay sites the seller may not ship to your country.
I collect a very narrow scope of an item originating in Germany so I go directly to ebay.de for my searches as ebay.ca (Canada) doesn't show all items available on the German site, even if I select "Worldwide". And a few times I found items in ebay.fr, ebay.it, ebay.at (France, Italy, Austria) that didn't show up on .de (Germany). So definitively there are differences.

Excellent! That is exactly what I was asking and looking for an answer to. So more than likely there are coins on "eBay" that I want, I'm just not looking at the right country's eBay.
Quote: "Histman"It looks like it might be. It is a little bit discolored so it is a little hard to tell. I bought it anyway just in case.
Congratulations Histman, I'm pretty sure you bought the correct one. At first I was very sceptical and it looked like a sharp whisker:
But after some further enlargements, I'm convinced it's a well-defined blunt whisker and the area right under the whisker is just some discolouring:
I have dozens of these 1 cents 1966 but it's so hard to make a correct determination of the Mint and they aren't on my Numista yet because I'm still postponing the correct determination. But again, I strongly believe you picked up the right one for your search.

I agree. I wasn't sure when I looked at it, but it was pretty close, and for a few bucks it was worth the shot. I'll know better when I get it in hand and I'll let folks know. Thanks!
So I got this coin today from the UK and it was ridiculously quick. After getting it under my camera the coin I received is definitely the Perth variety. Thanks for locating that for me.
