I sent 2 envelopes with coins from Romania to 2 Italian Numista users one month ago (I did not include names here). And they still did not received them. I also sent in the same period to France, Portugal, Poland and UK (later) and received them.
Has anyone else experienced this with "Poste Italiene"? Is it a overall problem or did it just happen to me?
Later edit: I sent "Registered Letter" to both with tracking number:
Hello,
I am one of two Italian users that are waiting for the registered letter sent by Xar20 from Romania. I feel optimistic and I want to explain why:
It's certain that this period is affected by Covid emergency, because this is the answer that the postal officiers give to me, when I ask why my letters don't arrive to the recipient and the letters don't arrive to me: "Don't worry, we are still in the pandemic emergency and the the postal times are lengthened".
Surely some strange things may happen in recent weeks. Here are a few examples:
- Registered mail sent to me:
On 30th of June I received a letter sent from Slovenia on 23rd of June (1 week only), on contrary I am waiting for a letter sent from Romania on 4th of June and a letter sent from Israel on 12th of June (not yet received!!!!)
- Registered mail sent by me to other swapper:
Letter sent to Slovenia on 22th of June, received on 30th of June (only 8 days), on contrary a letter sent to Latvia on 31th May, received by recipient on 8th of July (after 38 days!!!).
In conclusion I suggest to be patient, because in my postal office advise against complaints until at least two months have elapsed from the date of shipment.
It is not related to Italy, but I was sending 2 envelopes to Spain from US, it took 2+ months for the first letter, and almost 3 months for another one. I already was worrying, but they arrived.

So, in my opinion, give it more time.
That's good to know. I have had an envelope to France from the US not arrive after about a month and a half. Hopefully it gets there soon.
In my experience the post is globally running a bit slower these days but I haven't lost any packages so far, and all of mine also arrived. Some were as usual, but some were up to 3x slower than in the best of times.
I can just report on an experience of mine
I made an exchange with a collector from Romani and after two months his mail did not arrive.
He sent me a new mail with other coins to compensate, but after the second letter arrived also the first arrived.
So I can just suggest to wait
As I told yesterday, the patience is needed!
The registered mail sent by Xar20(Romania) to me (Italy) on the 4th of June is arrived in Italy on 14th of July, after 40 days.
It remain to be seen where it stayed for several weeks!
By the tracking # info
2020-06-10 Bucharest BSI (c, m, e), Shipped from Romania
2020-07-14 International Exchange Center, In the works at the Italian International Exchange Centre
Where the letter stayed in this space of time?
In Romania? In Italy? Or in flight from country to country?
The question will remain unanswered!
I've sent a tracked and signed coin that i sold on ebay to a buyer in Spain, 5 weeks ago and he just received it today! He even opened a case against me ,like it's my fault the post is very slow due to covid issue! Also tried to send a coin to Italy through Royal Mail but apparently it's forbidden to send coins with them , but DHL accepted , though i had to pay a lot more for shipping! Everything is slow now, plenty of coins delayed from Austria to UK, i had to wait 4 weeks to get them!
I had a case in 2017 or 2018 when I sent 2 different packages to Italyin a same day(one registered with tracking number, and another one, standart with no tracking)...the simple one with no tracking arrived to it's destination in a week, and the one with tracking stayed on the way for a week more.
Guess the packages with tracking may be proceeded slower,as they are sorted, listed, and registered in a few more steps than the simple ones.

I fully share your opinion. Usually it's the case. The regular mail is much quicker than registered mail.
But one of my recent cases reverse this theory:
I sent from Italy to Scotland a Priority Int'l mail on 9th of June and on 15th of June the letter was received by the recipient (only 6 days!). My swapper friend sent (from Scotland to Italy) a standard Int'l mail on 13th of June and today, after 33 days elapsed, the letter is not yet arrived!
These are the mysteries of the postal service, in a not normal period.
I've got an envelope coming to France from the US, it made it from New York to Paris in 10 days, but now I'm worrying as it has been in Paris for 12 days...
