Hi,

I noticed we have bi-metalic tokens that can't be enter correctly in the database because the database is not design to support them.
Example this token.
The main part is in brass but there is a strap of Coppernickel in the middle.
Can we add the option to enter correctly this kind of tokens ?

Thanks in advance

Either select bimetal with unknown metals and then use the field for additional details or use others and then the field for additional details.
The problem is the bimetallic say center and ring by defect. So this is not correct

that's why I said to put is as unknown metal and the metal description in the details box.
I don't believe such a fringe case warrants any changes to Numista.
By doing so you are not only messing up the database but you also don’t allow users to make a search on metal. There is not only 1 token like this but this stripped bi-metallic token were very famous for transportation token in the US.

Below a list of the tokens with strips that I spot in the catalogue knowing there are more:

Maybe the best way to handle this without too much change is to add for bi metallic coins a "Form" filed with 2 options:
1 - Circular
2 - Striped

Then based on this the lettering of the composition will be by form:
1: Composition = Bimetallic: nickel brass center in copper-nickel ring
1: Composition = Bimetallic: nickel brass main part with copper-nickel strip
