https://blog.cgb.fr/moratoire-sur-limportation-aux-usa-des-monnaies-antiques-de-chypre,8855.html
Urgent Action Needed!
The Memorandum of Understanding between the United States and Italy is expiring. In negotiating a new agreement, the Italian government has requested an expansion of the current MOU.
Under the existing MOU, Roman coins issued before the time of Augustus cannot be imported into the US. Coins issues by Augustus and later are allowed to be imported.
The Italian government has now asked that ALL Roman coins be prohibited from import into the United States—a proposal that would adversely impact the numismatic industry.
The deadline for submitting comments is 11:59 PM on July 8—two days from now. Instant action is required.
For more information, click here.
It’s urgent that all coin collectors and dealers let the government know their opposition to this terrible proposal.
Thank you.
