As the title suggests, I sent a coin to someone, as a gift, because they did not have any coins to swap. I completed the swap request and they received and are happy with the coin. Can they grade that as a swap? Thanks,
Some people have done this in the past to get feedback before scamming others. Most people are fine with this as long as the receiver says that it was a gift.
Thanks. Basically, I'm just helping another user complete a collection with something I don't need. Kind of what we all are trying to do, right? I appreciate the feedback.
Why do you need 5 stars for a nice gesture? You just helped somebody, you don't have to get something in return for that, not even a swap rating. You want to help others, send them coins without opening swaps. You rated each other, I am wondering what is his rating for, waiting patiently for the coin to arrive? So in my opinion neither of you should get feedback for this, make as many gift as you want but don't ask for feedback in return, this is not acceptable, not even once.
Feedback is appropriate, it's not very different from a sale. You've delivered the coin as agreed, so why not?
Now a brand new member giving away scores of low value coins merely to short cut the feedback system is a different kettle of fish to my dear neighbor Walt.
Non illegitimis carborundum est. Excellent advice for all coins.

Would it be possible to have a feedback system for sales.

You can use the swap engine, it's perfectly suitable for sales.
