German Post problems? [solved]

3 posts • viewed 126 times
I tried to order coins from one of the MA Shop dealers in Germany and he emailed me to say the German Post was not shipping to the US due to the covid issue. I checked the German Post site and it says they have new restrictions as of 18 June but I am not aware of the various products they offer so the changes don't make sense to me since some shipping is still permitted. Does anyone else any info on this? Thanks.

currently you can only send letters up to 500g, not containing any goods or (quite expensive) parcels, with „crisis surcharge“.
Any moderately priced way of sending (small) goods was suspended back in March due to limited freight capacities, caused by reduced air traffic. Funny enough, I can send stuff to many exotic places and even Canada or México, but not to the US. There is also some upset here, as this ruins the business of many stores which frequently sell to the US. If you are lucky, you live like near the boarder to for example Austria and can send from there. The Austrian post seems to have the capacities to ship to the US...
in the end everything will be good - if it's not good, then it's not the end...
Thank you for the reply. I ordered from 2 different dealers in Germany and have yet to receive either order but the dealers say they were shipped. The 3rd dealer would not even try to ship.
