Couldn't find to where should I put this, but:

Not a bug at all,

But Guyana should be in South America.

Hello,
Thanks for reporting this mistake. It's fixed :)

"South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands" also appear in this filter, while they actually lie somewhere near the tip of South America and Antarctica.
Guyana and subregions are still showing at North America, same as South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands. Both should be listed under South America.

EDIT: Also Panama, and Netherlands Antilles and subregions are showing both under North and South America.
Just 10 options: you understand binary, or you don't.

Hello,

I changed the continent for Guyana and South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands, bot to South America.

Panama is indeed set for both North and South America. Should that be changed?

Netherlands Antilles are split between North and South. My assumption is:
  • Aruba, Bonaire and Curaçao are part of South America (very close to Venezuela)
  • Saba, Sint Eustatius and Sint Maarten are part of North America (like most of the Caribbean)
So the following continents were set:
-Netherlands Antilles: North America & South America
---BES Islands: North America & South America
---Curaçao: South America
---Netherlands Antilles: North America & South America
---Netherlands West Indies: North America & South America
---Saint Eustatius: North America
-Aruba: South America

it's not easy to determine or decide the borders of regions. Always was discussions about the split or America continent, most support 3 sections, North, Central and South America, or even 4, splitting also Caribbean islands. In this case many support Canada and USA are North America, but many also include Mexico; others argue Mexico is part of Central section, by being part of the "narrow" part. On my opinion, I would keep in Central America, cause of language spoken, but just my opinion. I have seen all islands in Caribs (if not owned by a South American country) are usually considered part of Central America, even if close to South. I also saw always Panama is considered part of Central America (in spite at a moment was part of the Great Colombia).

For those who want 2 "sections" only, South is up to Colombia, and North is from Panama to North, Caribs included.

The U.N. has this page about regions, it shows as South American all mainland countries plus Falklands and South Georgia & South Sandwich Islands.

Hope this help you to set borders. Only I don't agree is to have countries showing on both sections.

Shouldn't Papua New Guinea be listed under Oceania?

Yes, it should.
Personally I would stay with the 7 continent model, choose one source e.g. LINK and stay with it. There are to many opinions around such things as borders and shit. Let the people bash there heads in over this stuff in the real world but not on Numista.

I recover this topic since I have seen that Papua New Guniea is still in Asia when it should be in Oceania. I think it should be changed.
