Help Identifying Old Silver Ring

5 posts • viewed 140 times
A few months back I purchased a silver ring to wear, it's been my daily-wear ring since it arrived, very happy with it. It was described to me as being "from between 12th and 15th century". And I'm hoping someone here might help provide some insight and expertise.

Also: If anyone knows of any website or forum that I can find more information that would be particularly helpful.

I saw a lot of this type of rings, with the crude engravings, in West-Africa for sale.
Many times made from silver what came from melted coins...
From, what it looks to me, it is not between 12th and 15th century but more likely
from between 20th and 21th century.
...you can run,  but you can't hide...

Mmh, I had a look at some of those, they seem alot more "african" in style. Still not certain as I have seen other medieval rings with marks and patterns similiar in style and technique, so still on the fence with this answer, Thanks for a lead though!

I do not know, off course. But to me the engraving-edges are to sharp, to be that old.
I hope, for you, I am wrong...:)

Bump.
Would still like opinions or pointers to where I can get help.
