I was told this is 1 pfennig from the German states but I cannot find it in the catalogue any ideas ?

Swiss Cantons 1 Rappen or Batzen. Not sure which Canton though... possibly Luzern?

No, this is not Swiss. This is a Pfennig token from Frankfurt, so called "Jewish pfennig" (Judenpfennig). It is listed in Krause as Tn5.
