Some people do both works, design and engrave, they are not repeated by mistake.

Thank you.

Hello,

Any info on Valcambi? Is it the same with the Swiss mint? I suppose they do in-house engraving, but it's a company, not a person. Maybe we can find the name of the engravers from them.

And any info on J. R. P. ? Do we have a name for this person, or is it a company as well?

The others are all added

Regards

Very good question. In fact, I took the names from the catalog "La Moneda de Cuba" by José María Aledón, in the catalog there are pictures and descriptions about some of the persons, but nothing about Valcambi/J.R.P., so I don't know who/what they are.

On the mention of Valcambi , it shows to have been designed and engraved by Valcambi, and also there is a note about the place where the coins were produced. Here are the images:

It got me confused, as Valcambi is Swiss, and was not able to find anything about Karl Sruhe, but Karlsruhe is a city at Germany, but no notice about coin mint there. Only I could find is seems there was an ammunition factory placed in that city.

About J.R.P. there is no description about who is, and I have no clue. Here is the image of the only mention:

If this complicates you, just leave them out, and mentions in coin pages would stay hand written. Maybe in future we can know something more abut them.

Best regards,
Daniel.

Technical question:

I need to go to each coin page and re write the names? or this will automatically connect to what was hand written?

Edited: Don't worry, I have gone to look in the pages, so I found is not automatic, and also I noticed I need to place names in the correct slots.

Hi adanieluy,

Then I think it's best to add the Vacambi and JRP once we have a bit more info about them. Otherwise JRP might actually be the initials of someone who is (or will be) in the database and create a duplicate.

The fields should update automatically if the spelling is identical.

Best regards

Hello, any info about E.Cepero in the "La moneda de Cuba" book?

No, unhopefully, there is no data about him. Just mentioned as designer/engraver of coins.

If you need data, maybe you may mail to divulgacion@cultural.ohch.cu; this is the mail of Oficina del Historiador de Ciudad de La Habana (Havana City Historic Bureau). They have a close relation to Cuban minhouse (ECA - Empresa Cubana de Acuñaciones), so they may have more information.
