I just hit just over 100 countries today, and I read something not to long ago that the amount of countries waas reduced or something, and I remember the "300 club" or whatever it was called, but is that different now?

Very true.
My suggestions:
1. The entire dashboard map being colored (well, perhaps without dots).
2. All countries or territories which have their own circulating coins now.
3. All countries or territories which have their own circulating coins now or have had such coins before (well, within reasonable timeframe, e.g. 20th-21st centuries; or, if you are ambitious, even 19th-21st).
When it comes to the number of countries, I use a batsman in cricket match, with his scores.
50- he gets a big cheer
100-he gets a huge cheer
150-he gets a massive cheer
200-he gets a mind blowing cheer
and so on (make your own words)
Obviously, if you only collect for certain countries, and your country total will never be high, you, like it has previously been stated, set your own milestones.
I have one milestone that I like the best. Adding a new country.
Now make yours, and you will always be a happy collector

My personal milestones ... collecting only Europe:
- getting to 65 countries (am at 57 now) and maybe 70 if I get into ancient Europe
- maybe 200 issuers, once I start working on German and Italian states, and then enter Feudal Europe (now at only 79 issuers)
- and for sure 5000 cointypes from half of the 19th century till now (almost reached 3500 now), that's still a lot of silver to go!

No new swaps for the moment, still too many half-ongoing swaps to clean up!
I count milestones are ones where you see yourself achieving your own goals.
For me countries have never been an achievement, I would rather collect 5 or 10 countries really well rather than 1 coin of every country past and present. I have been stuck around 80 countries for a long time and are fine with it.
90% of my coins come from 5 countries (NZ, UK, Ireland, Australia, Fiji) and that pleases me.
My milestones of upgrading my NZ predecimal coins and collecting as many different Half crowns as possible are progressing well - that pleases me.
I love coins. Especially silver, gold and anything really old.

My milestones are probably the mirror image of most collectors - I'd like to end up with just two countries, Great Britain 1707 - 1910 and Germany 1933 - 1945 plus a few odds and ends who issued tokens for leper colonies. I've already rid myself of Greece, Columbia and the various Rhodesias at fire sale prices and look forward to continuing the trend in the post virus world. I'm aiming to keep the same overall value but with a much narrower and easy to manage collection. I reckon it will make things easier for my eventual heirs.
Currently down to 128 countries, I reckon 100 is the next milestone, then 75, 50 etc.
Non illegitimis carborundum est. Excellent advice for all coins.

When I first started 11 yrs ago, my goals were to have a coin from Greenland, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico. Now I have all three, so for me that was a milestone.
Now, my goal is to collect by type, and eventually have one of every circulated World coin from the 1900s and onward.
Looking to continue completing my collection.
I am currently only trading in the US. Will consider international if swap is good and worth it.
