Hello. For some reason if I try to search for a UK farthing using demonination "1 Farthing" or "Farthing" I get no results. Well, to be honest, I get one result:

https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces55925.html

plus a few Scottish coins.

Does anyone know why farthings aren't indexed as farthings? I can search for Jamaican or Irish farthings, anything but UK.

That being said, I can just search by year and Farthing usually shows up at the top, but I find it kind of odd.

Thanks for any suggestions or for fixing the bug.

Chris
Why have you got 'Coin types' set to only 3 options?
If it is set to 'All' there are 27 results >
Token collector [1600-1899] with some coins
Hello,
That's related to way the face value was entered for UK coins. For example the 1 Farthing - George IV was listed with a face value of "1/4 Penny = 1/48 Shilling".
I suggest you rather rely on the simple search, looking for "1 farthing".

Only because I'm searching for plain farthings, not patterns or trials. Try searching for a run of the mill farthing as a farthing, it doesn't work.

Ok, I'll give that a try.

Do you not consider this a problem with the catalog? I don't much care about the farthings, but who knows what other coins don't come up when you search for them using their normal denomination.
can the easy search field not be added to the advanced as an additional field as it obviously uses a different algorithm to search.
I sometimes get annoyed when searching for coins with values like "farthing" or "florin" but then I have to remember that those would be "1/4 penny" and "2 shilling" instead.

Yeah, that's a good point, but my worry is that when I search for some other, obscure coin by typing in the denomination that's written on the coin, it may not work out because the search is indexed on something else.
