I added my values and for the most part I consider Numista values a good indicator of real market values except for coins with high bullion value. For instance according to Numista values my gold coins are currently worth 20% under melt value and these actually have a numismatic value and are not just bullion coins. A simple solution to this would be making the minimal value on precious metal coins melt value regardless of what members entered as their values.

For some common coins it may be a useful indicator but for anything beyond that the values are all over the place. I'd like to know where some of these members get their coins at 10% of the market value. Yes, of course it happens but surely not frequently enough to cause such a divergence from reality. I suspect a lot of the distortion arises from optimistic grading - that old Gothic florin from the eBay junk silver lot is probably more VG than VF... which is why it was sold as scrap metal!
I prefer to trust my own judgement along with K&M.... in exactly that order.
Non illegitimis carborundum est. Excellent advice for all coins.

I dont add values to my coins purely because I don't know precisely its value and values are always changing so unless you want to constantly keep track of values and change them they would be inaccurate fairly quickly.
It's funny. On numista it is very strange how it says "For 29% of you collection". Why can't It tell me the full value lol. I also checked the total of both percent values and the complete values were different from each other!

Simple, because Numista only shows the median value of coin that have at least 4 entries by users, in your case that applies to 29% of your collection. Also, of course Numista values and your values will vary since you can enter whatever you want for your values. I suggest reading how the algorithm works: https://en.numista.com/forum/topic74862.html

I don't add values, but I do add buying prices for all my better stuff and I make private comments on each coin.
The pricing is for whole conditions only and I have very few coins that are exact conditions - I mean they have F and VF, I will choose say F and then add as a note "goodF paid $23 4/20 for instance"
The catalogue values they have are not that accurate, some scarce coins the VG may be higher than F and then VF is 5 times higher than VG and 10 cents less than EF etc!
For common world mix and cheap coins under $10, I don't bother - just add the coin, choose year and guess rough condition.
I love coins. Especially silver, gold and anything really old.
