British guinea coin ?

5 posts
I've just purchased this and I still can't make out even by looking at the catalouge, sorry for the pics being upside down !

It's very similar to the Jetton I purchased to go along side it I have 2 jettons looking the same but with different dates and the spade is larger on one :s the little coin is wafer thin, very much so like a hammered piece any ideas ? Also are the two jettons worth keeping of shall I get rid of one ?

My first thought was Spade Guinea; and probably a token copy ...

Token collector [1600-1899] with some coins
I have looked through those and they are very similar to the copy I have but this one as I say is very thin and not as large I would say 18mm max I'll have a measure and weigh later this is it compared to the tokens I have

The original Spade Guinea was 20mm so as yours has edge a bit worn may be correct.

Have you any idea how to clean it up more ? I think it may be a copy as I Only payed a few £ for it, saying that it was worded poorly for the listing and had a very strange end time lol
