Help Needed To Understand About Indian 1 Rupee

2 posts • viewed 170 times
Regards. I am going through the catalogue and adding various coins to my collection.
The mintmarks section of one rupee stainless steel coin https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces1609.html (KM#92.1) has no special comment or a photo about the different mintmark of Mumbai mint but the checklist below shows two coins for the years 1993 and 1994. One with regular diamond mark and the other one says about different mintmark. Both these coins are mentioned as reeded edge coins and both are under KM#92.1. (Going further 1995 coin shows 2 different types one is reeded and the other is smooth and has separate numbers KM#92.1 and 92.2 respectively. So no doubt about those coins.)
Can anyone help me to understand the different mintmark? How this mark is different than the Noida mark? Thank you.
From the information on the page, the different Mumbai mintmark is a solid dot and may be smaller than the Noida dot, which is shown as an open dot. Seems to be a case of you will know it when you see it. If the mintmark looks like the one on other Noida coins, I would say it is a Noida coin. If it looks different, then it is Mumbai.
