Hi I sent some coins with proof of post person recived coins .now person who I swaped with says he sent coins and i never recived got nothing person not sent proof of post he only sent photo of a envelope with no stamp from post office on stamp he also sent photo with a stamp of 0.60 cents which is very low value stamp for coins and notes he says he sent .0.60 cents for a post from Spain to Gibraltar is very low. Now he says he did his part and I stay with out nothing what do you advice I do.thanks
There isn't much you can do. Unfortunately we are all reliant on the honesty of our swap partners. If he/she claims the coins were sent there is no way to prove otherwise with regular mail. It has probably happened or will happen to the vast majority of members. Maybe it's best just to take the hit and forget about it.
Thanks for reply the thing is guy sent me the coins with a 0.60 cent stamp that will never get to Gibraltar from Spain and I agreed to send proof of post and other person didt send it he made a photo of post with my adress and the stamp was not stamped so I think he could be scammed
It's an awful feeling when you don't get your coins. Alas there is nothing that you can't do about it. Even registered shippings can't guarantee that the letter/parcel will be delivered. It only proves that the letter has been sent.
Wish you luck!
Cents are money too!
If he went to a post office, with the Spanish post, its not posible to make a photo of the package once you gave it, the person who attends you takes your letter, weights it (to tell you how much you need to pay) and not always stamps it, some times they just paste a little ticket

On the other hand, no, I dont think that with a 0.60€ stamp the letter will arrive you... ordinary internarional letters cost here at least 1.40€ for only 20gr. So... o think its a shame...

Would you please send me by PM the name of that spanish user?

In the UK, we can use three different types of postage to countries outside the UK.
1. Normal mail. This is really only for low values exchanges. Not insured
2. Tracked and signed. Fully insured, but tracked only until it leaves the UK, and signed by recipient
3. Tracked. Fully insured and tracked until it reaches destination

We need to put a custom form on any package going outside of the EU. On this form, you have to put a value, which is the maximum amount you are able to claim back if package is lost. Some recipients prefer a low value, as higher prices tend to alert the unscrupulous people, so this is a gamble at their request.

I had two packages posted to me two weeks ago, one from only 62 miles from where I live, and the other from Reunion.
The package from within the UK took 6 days, whereas the package from Reunion took 8 days.

Losing any package is very sad, but I'm afraid, it happens.

I remember posting a package to Italy, fully tracked. After three days, just checked tracking and it was off to Indonesia?????????. After about three weeks, it was actually sent to Italy, and it was safely delivered.
I was also waiting for a package from Cuba. It spent a month in their customs offices, but I did receive it.
I'm just a collector of coins, not a slave to it, unless I am in a coin shop.

I know through recent experiences that international mail is not leaving Polish or Russian borders due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Are there any other countries following this procedure.
