As our government recommends to stay home and without any urgent need not to go out, so after several days it become bothering to sit home, so I started programming language PYTHON COURSES ONLINE provided by Microsoft. Good time spending and the way to rise personal qualification.
How about You, my coin college?
Every single coin on the world should meet its collector!
I spent the first days of the quarentine playing basically videogames with friends online and watching some films; spent also one day adding some coins to my collection here and fixing a little bit my swap list (which is totally outdated due to swaps in hand); spent another one cleaning a little bit the house.
Right now I am having a look to some "homework" I need to do and planning the day.
Hope you all are doing things more useful but at the same time having some "relax" time

Be kind to people. Sharing is Caring. Collect what you like and not by the Crowd.
To seek for perfection, it is too painful and there is a very high price to pay. To seek for something comfortable is more easy. To seek for nothing is even more easy.
I have to deliver papers everyday, but stuck at home with elderly partner.
Lots of stamps, reading and net I hope. Hopefully our fickle power and internet remains up.
New Zealand under complete lockdown until April 24 at least.
Muzz - you know the government has banned all water sports - fishing, boating and swimming due to the provocation of emergency workers having to rescue people in distress, when they are needed to fight this Chinese invasion flu.
I love coins. Especially silver, gold and anything really old.

YES True but we walk to the edge of our section and just throw your hook in -----so we do not leave home so all fine - our house with the orange roof from our kitchen
I can work at home. So it's business as usual I would say.
Concerning our numismatic hobby I keep buying coins online (marktplaats.nl). International swaps is a no, no for me.
You all, be careful and keep safe.

Muzz, its a bit creepy but also very cool that from your photos I know what street your living on. I see your house in Google maps! I'd love to go in the Mangrove boardwalk and see all the wildlife.
I think coin hunting is the one thing that is necessary or essential in all this. We must look for coins to buy during the Pandemic. We are doing this for history...
Taking a break from swapping for a while, but still interested in pre 1799 Spanish coins, I will make time for that!
While I would love to go out riding on my motorbike, here in the UK i'm worried I might be pulled over and fined for going out needlessly. Which is a shame. If I go out i'd have to make sure my journey has a shop at the end of it :)

For me it's work as usual. I'm a train driver, so someone has to get all doctors and nurses to work. But I can really see the effects of the Coronairus. We have about 45% less passengers than usual, so often I just transport myself and the crew, lol! But I can't complain really. I started at 5:55 this morning, and on the way I saw lots of deers, foxes, and moose (I alsmost hit one! ). I also saw a beautiful sunrise, and amazing landscapes.

Retired. Before coronavirus everyday was Saturday.

Spent a lot of time watching utube videos to find out what this virus is. Have learned a ton.
has a huge RNA string in it.
attaches to the ACE2 receptor on our cells to enter them.
ACE2 receptor normally captures a protein that helps with blood pressure.
Bats have around 5000 other corona virus that are waiting to cross the species barrier to get us.
The last 5 viral infection outbreaks have crossed species to get at us.
This virus is extremely mobile, more than SARS.
Do not be surprised if this is with us permanently, it will not be gone by Easter.
Sorry, my intuition says we will be locked down for a long time.
It will be a long time before any professional sport will restart.(my conjecture)
I don't know about you fellers but I'm finding myself far busier than I was when left to roam free in the wild. We've laid new hardwood floors throughout the house and partially rewired the older parts. That didn't go too well though and the living room ceiling fixtures only work when the bathroom lights are on. Those guys on YouTube make it look so easy!
Normally I can get out of doing something I'm not keen on with a trip to the gym or the cigar store. Now I'm like the Israelites in Egypt - nowhere to run!
Non illegitimis carborundum est. Excellent advice for all coins.

Dud anyone, except for the US president, really believe this would've been over by Easter? Over here people are cancelling their summer vacation plans.

Is the whole US in lockdown? Sems like everyone's just sitting at home.
It's up to each State, even individual Counties. Our beaches are "closed" but that's to deter the Spring Break yobbos from congregating. Our house sits right on the Pinellas Trial, an old CSX rail line which has been converted into a hiking / cycling trial. It's pretty busy but everyone's keeping a safe distance!
It seems the local authorities are content with a hands off approach until they're forced to act. All non essential businesses are shut by order. They have yellow signs on the doors posted by the Sheriff's Department, nobody needs a manicure or a haircut. I reckon they're using common sense and expecting the same in return. Nobody's going to bother you much if you're taking the pupster for a run in the surf but if you're planning a 100 person beach party they'll shut you down.

I found a free 55-gallon aquarium on the curb in my neighborhood, along with two bucketfuls of gravel. The tank was filthy, but it cleaned up easily. I filled it to the brim using the garden hose, and it held water just fine; no sign of any leaks.
My daughter has wanted to upgrade her small 5 gallon for a larger one, and now she has her opportunity. Our mutual goal is a basic freshwater community aquarium with live plants, guppies, tetras, and cory catfish. A friend of a friend has already offered me some plant cuttings and some read tiger endlers (a guppy variant). Once I've gotten the tank going and finished the cycling, I will take him up on the offer.
I was disappointed with the aquarium stands I saw in online stores, so I decided to start building my own.
The next steps are to finish the stand, sanitize the gravel, and procure the machinery... pump, filter, heater, lights. If you have any recommendations on such gear or an online retailer to buy them from, please PM me. (Amazon has been frustrating and fruitless.)
Now, this was a used tank, and I cannot speak for what the previous owner did with it. I don't know why it was free on the curb; I just know it holds water. Should I try to sterilize the tank from any kind of contaminating residue, either chemical or biological, that may have killed the previous tank occupants? Can I trust bleach or strong cleansers, or should I stick with vinegar or ammonia for cleanup? Or is a used tank as good as trash?
I'm just a beginner and could use advice from seasoned fishkeepers out there. PM me if you're one of them.
Weak bleach and some elbow grease for the cleaning! Or just salt. A lot of advice really depends on what exactly you'll put in it over time, but I'd recommend both a sump and quarantine tank. A quarantine is 100% essential, a sump is preferable for water management if you have the skill to retrofit that. (though as a reefie i'm gonna say that). You'll use the sump to put all your ugly equipment (big filters and heaters) and stuff in so your nice new display is free! If you add a 20 gallon sump you're also boosting your total water and stability by like 50%.
If you don't have the ability to use a sump, you'll need to research the type of stuff you need. Again, huge differences can be had if you want for example a brakish/blackwater kind of tank.
I'm REALLY a reef guy, so don't want to really give more specific freshwater advice lol
