How to Search (for Euro coins)? [solved]

3 posts • viewed 63 times
I feel like I'm missing something very basic, but I don't get what.
Lets say I want to find details about a 2002 20 Euro Cent Italian coin.
I don't have it in my collection, so I cannot access it through that.
Instead I go through the Catalogue->Search functionality.

But I get no results. I try putting in "IR" in the Lettering field, I tried leaving it empty. I try putting in "MAC" in the lettering field. I try putting in "Euro Cent" in the lettering field. I try putting in "20 Euro Cent" in the Face Value field. I try changing the "Italy" in the Issuer field to a sub Italy that is listed under the Main Italy in the drop-down. All give me no results. What am I doing wrong?
Hello,

I suspect the issue could be coming from the "coin type" field, which is restricted to 3 values (not sure which one?). It would probably help selecting all possible coin types, including euros.

Also, I suggest leaving the field for lettering empty. The "20" in the field for face value should be enough. Entering "IR" would actually return no result because the coin was registered with lettering "RI" (Repubblica Italiana).

See for instance: https://en.numista.com/catalogue/index.php?mode=avance&p=1&l=&r=&e=italy&d=&ru=&i=&ca=3&no=&se=&v=20&m=&a=2002&t=&dg=&w=&u=&f=&g=&c=&wi=&sw=&tb=y&tc=y&tn=y&tp=y&tt=y&te=y&cat=y
Hi,

Thanks, you're absolutely right! It was preset to those 3 values, and I just checked "Including Euros" was not selected. Problem fixed now.
