In the description of the 2004 coin, you find SD NORMAL and SD SMALL. To me one is BOLD and one is FINE, but do they correspond as I indicates in the documentation? I would like to get it right before I submit the change request, and since I know we have knowledgable Australian mates in numista, I hope I'll soon get the answer.
Hi Ole,
To me the 'bold' just looks more worn and flattened, no real difference ?
Unless size is different, but that's not clear in the picture.
This is mine, just for comparison
Kind regards !
According to The Pocket Guide to Australian Coins and Banknotes by Greg McDonald, Edition 23, the Large and Small SD varieties on Australian 5 cent coins are quite common.
They appear on 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005 & 2006 coins. Although the 2004 year it is easier to find both types.
Personally I have got both types in the 2004 and 2005 years. I have never bothered to look for them in the other years. The difference is very slight.
