how long before a confirmed swap nullifies or cancels itself ? add feature to kill/delete?

I have a few confirmed swaps that are stagnated, it may be that the person has passed or some other long term issue.

I mean, 3 months old or more and no activity, will the numista site automatically time out after a period of time has passed, how long?

If not, is there a way to delete it, and neither of us rates ? Kill feature after 6 months?

Thanks for input
Mike
Hello,
There is no way to cancel a swap after it has been confirmed. What you can do is:
  1. Write to your swap partner so he knows you don't intend to continue with this swap (just to avoid they send the coins when they wake up 3 months after).
  2. Click on "Hide in swap monitor" from the page of the swap, so you won't see it again.

OK Thank you, so no time limit at all? even after 2 years later I could get a review from the past?
Yes, that's possible.
I would be concerned about misuse of a delete button, as a dishonest user could enter multiple swaps and then "delete" them to prevent any negative rating. If something like this was considered, a counterbalance might be to includea report on the user profile of number of swaps deleted, so misuse could be detected easily.
I thought when a swap doesn't get finished the 'on the road' counter goes away after a month or two.

Yes, that is what I really want to know, and it appears they do drop off as I show less swaps on the road than actually are. Yeah, the delete button is a bad idea, Im just glad they drop off the "swaps on road" as the status is unfair when I have 3 or 4 with NO activity/rating. In some cases, we swapped, but no one wants to rate, and a few got sick. etc
I think my issue solves itself, just not liking someone could wake up from a coma, then rate bad because they dont remember anything, or say a Grandpa passes and his newly appointed ward is 12 years old with his password.

I have ran into this as when I asked for payment (was a purchase), the 12 year old child did not have a credit card or pay pal, I finally figured it out, his account was way older than his vocabulary. Or maybe anyone bought grandpas computer at a yard sale with cached passwords, yep, happens a lot.

I just feel maybe the rating function should time out after 6 months?
