To improve the feedback mechanism, mainly to avoid that someone forgets or refuse to give the feedback, or worse blackmail the other swapper asking to give a good feedback (also if it is not deserved) otherwise he/she will give a bad one (again not deserved), I suggest:

The feedbacks are made public only when both the two swappers have given them

I don't think it will be very difficult to implement and will solve some problems.

In some case, you have a message that says ok, but the swapper doesn't rate you, and you are afraid to insist to avoid that he/she gives you an undeserved bad feedback

Hello,

I agree this is a weak point of the current rating system. However, I don't agree with your solution in its current form. If I know I messed up with swap and I would receive a bad rating, I would never rate the swap so that the bad rating would never show up on my profile.

Some websites (e.g. Airbnb) have this system, but there is fixed period when you can rate after the transaction, and then the ratings become public. Swaps can take a long time because of slow mail service, so enforcing a fixed period for rating looks difficult. Also, I prefer that bad ratings become public as soon as possible, so that other victims are warned as soon as possible.

I don't know how we could adjust your solution, so we can avoid blackmail and revenge feedback, without giving an opportunity to prevent the ratings to become public.

Until we find a solution, if you are a victim or blackmail or revenge rating, feel free to contact me so I can act on a case-by-case basis.
I just noticed that this was already suggested in 2016. Let's continue the discussion on that other topic:
