Make message visible in email notification

This message aims at: suggesting an idea to improve Numista

When I receive email notifications for Numista messages, I’d like to be able to read them in the email and not need to load the webpage. Is there any reason why this has not already been implemented?

Good suggestion, gets a few more advertising clicks by making people go to the website :P
Hello,
I like this idea: for sure would be more efficient to read the message directly. Still I have 2 concerns:
  • There are already some people today trying to reply to the message hitting the "reply" message of their email app instead of replying inside Numista. I fear this kind of mistakes may increase a lot if the message is visible directly in the email.
Ideally, Numista should be able to receive the reply by email and post it as a personal message on Numista. Some other big websites do it, but it's quite tricky to implement reliably.
  • I had several issues with email providers in the past which considered Numista notifications as spam. The situation is quite better today, except for Hotmail/Outlook and a couple of other minor providers. If the notification contains the message itself, I can't control that it won't contain suspicious words, which may impact the notifications overall.
Let me vote against this option (even though I'd appreciate it myself). When you make people read the messages on the website, you can see when someone has read (or not read) a message. Especially when discussing swaps it sometimes happens that people just don't have time for a few days to read messages (no problem at all), on the other hand it can happen that people have read them but decide not to react for a few days (that swap will go nowhere) ...
If the message is in the mail, you have no idea of knowing if it was read or not.

No new swaps for the moment, still too many half-ongoing swaps to clean up!

Hello,

Getting the Numista notification emails accepted by the various worldwide email providers is a constant challenge. For this reason, I don't want to take the risk of having sensitive words included in the emails.

A small improvement implemented today is that links in the email now point directly to the message itself and not just to the inbox.
