download database

Hi everyone

I have several "standard catalog of world coin" and I want to manage my collection of coins like someone living in 2020 ;-)
I have an excel spreadsheet (with KM numbering) but I'd like to create an web-based app (php+mysql-based) for easy reporting, statistics...
No problem for coding.

But the first and essential thing to do is to have a solid coin database.

I'd like to know if there is a world coin database I can import/download.
It probably exists since website are connected with such database.

Thank you for your answers
There is no free coin database that you can just download.

Krause's official coin db is accessible via Numismaster, but if you try to flip thru the pages too fast, they'll ip ban you automatically. NGC also uses the same db, but they most likely have some kind of licensing deal set up with Krause.

There is a bunch of numismatic sites like Numista, each with their own database. These are usually built from the ground up via user contributions. There are also sites that just copy information from here.

Colnect has an API to connect directly to their db, but there are some forms that the site's owner wants you to fill out first before he'll provide access.
HoH

I forgot something... THANK YOU
Your reply is useful

Sorry for the long time :-)
This post popped out in my search.. I'm searching the same, and about to start it by myself.. Did you find anything?
Hi

Unfortunately no...

I think I will have to do all by myself (including the pictures!!) arrgghhh what a wasted time, since it exists.
I'm still looking for it

Regards
If you want we could discuss on the way to do it.
I will construct a web-based interface in php/mysql/javascript (with a touch of bootstrap & jquery) ...

Why not? I started something with a different approach, but I think the database can be a common and shared task.
I'll write you a private message. I don't know if someone else is interested..
You can access the catalog of Numista with its API https://en.numista.com/api/doc/index.php

To create a new coin database? That’s a bit bold, isn’t it?
They say "Pecunia non olet", but I know better...
