Hey!
After splitting my collection into different time periods, I could more clearly see all specific areas on the Dashboard map. What I thensaw was that the Roman Empire has been limited to only cover Italy - excluding San Marino and Holy See.
A five second search shiw this map for tje Roman Empire:

One can argue that It grew both bigger and smaller, but I clearly wasn't just Italy.

At the same time the Ottoman Empire got the whole of Egypt, Libya and Tunisia, even though they only conqyered the nothernmost beaches in those areas. I know it has to be all or nothing, but if we're using the same logic as with Rome - which seems to be no logic - the Ottoman Empire should only cover Turkey.

Any inputs?

Cheers!
Ideally would be a timeline map where you can slide to a specific year and the borders to change accordingly but this implies a big effort to digitize so many maps. But yes, following your logic the Ottoman Empire should only cover Turkey.
Yeah, I guess it is time to add some map places to Rome...

That woukd be the absolute dream. We've also earlier been talking about different maps covering different eras. I gues it's too complicated to implement.

I know, right? But please be aware that this is not what I'm aiming for, though.

Yeah, I reckon it is.
As a stopgap measure without having to determine the actual relevant geography, we can just assign all the areas currently assigned to Roman provinces to Rome as well; the relevant regions should surely be approximately the same.

In Slovenia we say: "To mi delaj!" it means somewhere "...uuuuu yes, please more....". This one has definitely my "like" button....

Some Rome places were added from top of my head (also just those I remember how their map places are called in the database). I certainly missed some.

It definitely lools better that before, that's fir sure! Cheers!
I guess Enland should be added too, since there's been big findings of Roman coins there, soith of Hadrian's wall.
Ohhh, looking good so far. :D

I would say those spread-out dot-countries should also be highlighted: Vatican City, San Marino, Monaco, Andorra, Gibraltar, Malta, Jersey, and Guernsey. Also: Albania.

In Africa, Tunisia probably had enough area to consider inculding it as well.

In Asia, there is also Syria, Lebanon, Israel/Palestine, and Jordan which may be considered.

And... Bulgaria and Liechtenstein as well?

And while including England would be accurate, there is no one area for England. It is attached to Scotland and Northern Ireland.

OK, I wasn't sure if that was the case, since we have "England" in the country list, I just assumed it was possible to only cover England. Thanks.
