Storage Ideas

Hello, I have a collection of foreign coins and I have about 1000 more to add to my collection and I am not sure how I want to organize it. I have tried to look at older posts or other websites but my problem is that since I have coins off all different shapes and sizes and not enough of one coin for a roll, I don't know how I will organize them. At the moment I have them in rows in a cabinet on felt but my 400 some coins filled up 4 or the 6 drawers so I need to think of something else.
Let me know your idea, or how you organize your collections.
Thank you, Clara.
Almost all of my coins are sorted by year, kept in plastic hobby organizer bins that I bought from the craft store.

The remainder, sorted by country, fills an assorted storage solution of 2x2s, Whitman and Dansco folders, tubes, and little plastic boxes.
I make these stacking trays inside cigar boxes each shelf has felt on both sides.

You can get sheets of masonite, cut to the same size as your closet shelves, glue felt on both sides, voila you have double your storage space, for about $9 of material and an hours work. and you get to look at them all lain flat on a sheet of felt. i make loop carry handles with ribbon on each side. I like that the air is mostly squeezed out when they are stored.

I also have some Dansco books.

If you have USA subjects they have pages specifically to fit them. you can buy one dime page, one nickle page, one cent page etc. they also have mm sizes if you have alot of one size.
a seven page album costs about $50

In the cigar boxes I organize by country, i focus on certain countries, some types are easy to get full dates sets, some types are one or two year only types.
The books force you to organize by size. for example the 50centimes of the Latin monetary union of southern europe all go together, as do North and central American 10c coins. I have some 50c tunisians, but they are in the tunisia cigar box with the other tunisian silver.

Be kind to people. Sharing is Caring. Collect what you like and not by the Crowd.
To seek for perfection, it is too painful and there is a very high price to pay. To seek for something comfortable is more easy. To seek for nothing is even more easy.
