As you can see, I have a big doubt about the linking of the large date to the lamed letter varieties, where we would need an expert to tell us which of the two or eventually both can be assigned, since neither SCWC (nor of course Numista) gives the answer
Maybe the referee for Israel has a clear answer to that question?
Let's see if I understood well. When the date is written with small letters you found both varieties for letter lamed and when the date is written with large letters did you found both varieties?
I will take a look at my coins to see how is the letter lamed. I am positive that we can found an answer.

With large letters only NO variety is mentioned 1st line):
The first line MUST have either of the lamed varieties (or maybe both)? That's my question.
I understood now. Unfortunately I don't have not even one of this coin with large dates so I can follow a pattern. The coin with large date from your photo what kind of lamed have?
As far as I know there is no catalog for modern issues just for ancient Jewish coins there are good references written by Madden and Reinach. Even if would be a catalog I am pretty sure we don't find there such level of details like these varieties described in that way. This is why I am surprised that Numista team doesn't feel that such section is a must and a gold mine for any numismatist.
Ole, I don't know who is managing the site, just use the resource. By the way, for many years the most authoritative catalog of Israel and pre-Independence currency, coins and medals was the work of Sylvia Hefner, second edition that I have was printed in 1970, but reference to 1979 edition also exists.
