Also couldn't this just be a damaged or used-up die with such small separation features?

I have thought the same thing, but since Cobra, Michel Guerin, documented it (pdf format), I thought I would do it in powerpoint (jpg).
I don't have my Nordic coin catalog any more, so I have no way to check it...
