I have a couple big boxes of all types of cards from all sports trading card games and other types of collectible cards. They have set dormant for the past 30 years and I’m thinking about trying to get rid of them. I was just wondering if anyone else has been in a similar situation and what was the best means to sell it off.
I used to collect, play and I still have yugioh cards. They will always be a part of me because I grew up with them. Not sure about the best way to sell cards though. Trading card stores would pay you close to nothing for cards in my experience.
Thanks guys for the responses I agree shops pay next to nothing. I might give eBay a go just don’t know if it’s better to break it up or sell it all together.
Ebay's the way to go, try making a listing for each series and sell them individually, people may buy a single card for $5 but not ten for $25. Also you may want to check out sites like LastSticker to find out which particular cards are in short supply.

thanks I really appreciate that I will definitely take a look.
Hi Matt,
Have you made any progress on selling your cards? I am in a similar situation, trying to get rid of cards from my childhood. I am thinking Craigslist or Facebook Marketplace, but have yet to put the work in towards selling them.
Let me know how it goes for you.

yeah I think I sold off all my Pokémon a long time ago but if I find any I’ll let you know.

Sorry I don't accept gift offers online because my parents will take away my right to have internet, if I was 19, I would accept the offer, but I'm 14, Sorry!
I don't collect sports cards but I'll keep the ones that come in weetbix boxes (we go through plenty of those so I have tons of them lying around) When I was a kid (and I'm dating myself here) my brother and I collected garbage gang cards, teenage mutant ninja turtle cards and movie cards (I had two full sets of the original Batman movie with Michael Keaton and Jack Nicholson) We ended up with a whole sports bag full of cards. I left them at my parents house when I hit my teens and moved out, I don't know what happened to them, my brother probably flogged them all, or my mother tossed them during a cleanout.
As to best price, if you want to do the work then find the ones that are worth the most and sell them individually and then just split up the more common ones into little batches and sell them off.

so I started with my first set and only 3 of the 50 I posted sold so I will try posting the remainder as 1 lot and then move on to the next series. Idk I may just load them all up and put them into the attic and then in 30 years my son can try to do something with them,

I almost have a full set of the current All Blacks cards, only five to go. I usually don't care about promotions like that, but when I saw the diy box with the checklist on the back, the collector side of my brain just took over!
I’ve decided to put them back away in storage for now maybe in another 20 years when I give them to my son they will be more value able and if he ends up not wanting them I’ll probably just sell it all off in one huge lot.
