Canadian “Discovery of Nickel” 5 cent coin replica [solved]

3 posts
Greetings!

Is it possible to say anything more about this:

except that this is apparently a replica of Canadian “Discovery of Nickel” 5 cent coin

https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces407.html?

Is there a chance that it was used as a coin? Or is it a kind of souvenir token?
It is big (38 mm in diameter), made from aluminium; unlike the original coin, round-shaped and has some extra text on it. Lettering on the signature place says something like “LOMBARDO” (I am not sure about “B” letter and sorry, I failed to get better picture).

And in any case, is it worth to suggest including it to Numista catalogue as I failed to find it there?

Thanks in advance.

Thank you very much; there was a lot of interesting information. And that one on the picture is even bigger than mine :) Somehow I missed it first time while searching “the big nickel”, but now it worked out.
