There are currently two items or interest to me on eBay but both sellers ship only to the US. So, I'm looking again for an American Numista member with an eBay account. I would use your address on ebay.com (I'm usually on ebay.ca) to make the payment (in one case) and bid (in the other). The coins would come to your door and I would reimburse you for shipping them to Canada.
I have been helped several times so far by a great Numista member, but I wouldn't want to abuse of his generosity. That's why I'm submitting this new appeal.
Many many thanks to KLiao who graciously offered to help. I received the two coins this morning. One of them is particularly valuable to me as it is a low-mintage 1855 US large cent with the DEVINS & BOLTON countermark for which I am trying to find as many different foreign (i.e. non-Canadian) hosts as possible. It so happens that only one 1855 large cent was known to Brunk (in his 2006 book) with this countermark. Meanwhile he records 24 such countermarks on 1853- and 18 on 1854-dated large cents; also, 7 on the rather low mintage 1856-dated cents; none is recorded for 1857, though there might be one or two out there.¹
I now have a complete set of US large cents with Canadian countermarks for 1842-1856. I also have the sequence 1826-1832, as well as 1835, 1837-1838 and, well before that, 1817 (a rather common date) and 1803. All were countermarked by Devins & Bolton of Montreal except the 1849. The 1803 is the only one I know of that date that was countermarked by Devins & Bolton, but Brunk knew of an 1802 and even a 1796 and a 1798. The countermarking happened over several years, approximately 1860-1867.
You've help several times and I sure didn't want to take you for granted. On top of it, at the time of my last round of US acquisitions, I believe you were away. My thanks to both you and KLiao for having been so helpful.
If I can help you or anyone else in the same way, or if you need a second pair of eyes to spot hard-to-find coins, let me know. I have a pretty efficient system to spot key dates and the likes when they're listed on eBay.
It's always frustrating when you try to get something but it's not available for your country. I tried to buy CBS All access to watch Survivor series but guess what, I couldn't pay with my credit card because it's not registered in US so I tried to pay with Paypal and again they check if the account is registered in US. Now I am like the fox from Aesop's fable.
I see on the Wikipedia page that it is available only in the USA, Canada and Australia. For some reason, they need to have access to local broadcasting equipment and facilities.
I see on the same page that they will be expanding further... May be Romania some day in the not-too-distant future?
Yes I know but I used a proxy to register an account to watch the current Survivor episodes and hope that someday I can pay for an All access subscription with any credit card to get access to previous seasons.
I don't think they are old fashion it's more like quality control and I can understand that. They don't want to extend until they can provide quality services for all customers so they are limited to few countries. I don't really think they will be worldwide available very soon so I need to remember who I know in US to send money and make a payment for me.

Ah, so, you would be able to access it if you can make a payment via the US? But why then they don't just accept anyone's payment if you can stream (?) it anyway from anywhere in the world? I find this puzzling.

Interesting. I knew such a service existed for New Zealand but never guessed it did for Canada as well.
Well, they don't really stream outside US an few other countries but it's not hard for anyone to use a VPN to look like you are in one of those countries but for the payment you are right, they check if the account is registered in US.
