Hi Numista,

Can anyone help me identifying this coin? It is in a bad shape and come from under the ground.

Thanks!!

First image needs to be rotated a little to the left. Maybe the lettering,
around an eagle, is DA PACE DNE IN DIEBVS NO

Thanks! Like this?

Yes, here against an unrelated brass coin, just with some same lettering ...

Allright, it might be German states. I also see 2 S, so I guess it is a 2 stuber coin. Can't find it on Numista yet.

Assuming the earlier part of unreadable lettering is correct >

DA PACE DNE IN DIEBVS NO

Translation of abbreviations:
Da pacem, Domine, in diebus nostris
Grant us peace, O Lord, in our days

I think it is
German States, East Friesland, Enno II

Lettering from other side (obverse) may be ...
ENNO CO ET DNS PHRISIE ORIENT
or a variation of that. Here are some letters ...
ENN CO ET D - not sure about others.

Edit - As there is lettering unreadable before and after, may also be this ...
MO NO ENN CO ET D FR OR
Moneta Nova Ennonis Comitis Et Domini Frisiae Orientalis

That is all I can do, for now. :)

Just found this, small image ...

where that on the left looks similar.

Wow, thanks for helping! I will look for more information and hopefully have enough info to add it to the catalog!

Just seen this, on the French side, where five years ago
someone else had one. There is also a link in there to pictures ...

and the 5 Stüber - Enno III is already on here ...
https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces78163.html

Edit - also found a slightly better example of the obverse ...

MO NO ENN CO ET DO FR ORI

Similarly with the reverse ...

DA PACEM DOMINE IN DIEBVS NOS

German States Ostfriesland Emden Stuber Enno III 1599-1626
Schaf (2 Stüber) o.J. [ohne Jahre - without date - N D]
Token collector [1600-1899] with some coins
Thank you! I will add the coin to the catalog!
