Hello,

Was the 2 cent coin from Malta km9 year 1980 ever issued for circulation, or was it just a special issue.

There was a Proof and a special uncirculated. So...No, I think.

I got this coin dated 1980 in a bag of bulk coins. How can I tell if it is supposed to be proof or special uncirculated.

Show us a photo! That will give us some clues. I should imagine the special will be in a presentation box, originally.
