Have you ever had a sandwich that tasted so good you would be tempted to spend some of your valuable coins to get another one when you got the cravings?
Here are 5 that I would love to have sometimes (but I don't think I would spend any valuable coins to get one).
1. Muffuletta (from New Orleans - various meats and cheeses with juicy olive salad soaking a round loaf of bread, I had a couple from a chain grocery store in Pennsylvania before they stopped offering them, cost about $100 to have 2 shipped from New Orleans)
2. Banh Mi (Vietnamese, widely available in US, including a couple of places in my town, wheat/rice baguette, pork, mayo, carrots, cabbage, cilantro, hot peppers, horseradish--lots of varieties in Vietnam, including ice cream)
3. Cuban (widely available in Latin American type restaurants, pork, ham, mustard, pickles, cheese)
4. Cheesy Rider Burger (created by a local restaurant, 1/2 pound burger with beer cheese, cheddar cheese, tomatoes, greens, between 2 grilled cheese sandwiches)
5. My own invention as a teenager (peanut butter, strawberry jam, American cheese, Lebanon Bologna, eaten with sour cream and onion potato chips)
There is a little pub in Boston near North Station where you can get a Newporter sandwich, I didnt spend a rare coin, but once I did miss a train for the sake of that sandwich.
It is roasted turkey with Brie cheese melted under the broiler, on a ciabatta bread.
