Value of Qing dynasty coin

6 posts
Hello,

Chinese-speaking friends have identified this coin as belonging to the era of the Emperor Shun Zhi who ruled during the Qing dynasty (in the mid-1600s). Does anyone know the value of this coin? (photo of actual coin in my possession). Further info here: https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces7319.html Thanks!

The coin you posted is a modern reproduction. The bumps on the smooth area are to emulate the look a cast coin would have.
Indeed, Jadejackal is right. These coins are often manufactured not to deceive buyers, but rather for Feng shui purposes.

Even if if this is a real coin, these cash coins are not worth more than a few bucks unless it’s a rare variant.

Thank you both. I suspected it was a reproduction for precisely the reason you stated - the bumps! HongKongCoinCollector - do you know anything about the Feng shui in relation to this coin? It came into my possession (my Mum's possession, actually), in a very mysterious way.

I don’t know a lot of Feng Shui, I don’t believe in it anyways, but ancient cash coins are supposed to bring good luck (?), I might be wrong.
