In the last day I had the chance to acquire some circulation coins from Brunei directly from one of their citizens. One of the coins was the following.

The coin that was presented to me is definitely a business strike and visibly has been used for more than one transaction. I enquired and he assured me that this is a common coin used in daily transactions and is part of a larger series which is now the current coin family in use. As my friend stated that it was a common coin I found it hard to believe that the mintage was only 3,500. I did some digging and found a blog entry introducing the coin family as the regular set of coins to be used in Brunei

From first hand knowledge this coin and the rest are not non-circulating coins as marked on their Numista page but definitely standard circulating coins. I would like to request that the status be changed to common circulating coin or circulating commemorative.

It looks like this is done. :)
