Have never seen a coin like this. It is not evenly round. It is not completely flat. It is cracked in several places. I have no calipers but I measure 35 mm diameter and 2.5 mm thick. Any ideas? Will scan it later today to get a better image.

It looks like a hand-hammered Islamic coin, dated AH 1280 (AD 1863). To aid identification, please post a photo of the other side, plus a weight.

Some of these are much cruder than the photos indicate. I had to attribute one a few days ago.

It is Sudan under the Mahdi Revolt.
