How to take pictures of Banknotes [solved]

5 posts
I have a camera on my cell phone and a little auto focused Cannon. I want to start putting in my banknotes into a web site that requires you to enter your own pictures of your banknotes. But I have no idea how to do that. Is it as simple as taking a picture up close and downloading it into the web? Remember I'm 66 years old not computer or camera savvy but seems simple enough. I do know scanning does not work. Can someone help this old guy out? Thanks.

Honestly, just use your scanner and a computer. It is much more easier as compare to hp.

Be kind to people. Sharing is Caring. Collect what you like and not by the Crowd.
To seek for perfection, it is too painful and there is a very high price to pay. To seek for something comfortable is more easy. To seek for nothing is even more easy.
I would suggest that you get a scanner to do the banknotes. It would be rather difficult to get proper left to right perspective of a note using a camera ...

This is what I use to do banknotes. They have either 300 or 600 dpi. Very easy and fast ..

They have an app for the computer to import from the SD card in the scanner. One of the scanners is also WiFi.

Do not argue with ignorant people .. !! They will drag you down to their level, then pulverize you with experience ...
If you're happy with the quality of the pictures you take with your camera, then all you need to do is upload them to your computer and do a little editing. Assuming you have a cable, which should have come with your camera, connect it to your computer. The computer should ask you what you want to do, and provide you an option to upload the pictures. These should end up in your "Pictures" directory on a Windows-based computer.

I suggest you download PhotoScape (it's free), if you don't have picture editing software. Then you can rotate, crop, resize, and sharpen the images as required.

When you go back to the website to upload the images, there should be a way to either search your computer or perform a drag-and-drop.
Thanks all, I've got a scanner but didn't think it would work for this. But playing around for the last three hours. I think I've got it. We'll see when the web site deletes all my pictures. If it does work out I going to list all my extras for swap. But still learning the web site, too.
