I've tried to do this before, but lost patience and it's ended up very fragmented. So I'm making this narcissistic thread to try and motivate myself to do it properly.
I've had a free weekend and managed to organise most of my collection into a single spreadsheet, so I'm now going to try to add it ALL to numista, making the pages required as I go along.
This will probably be a boring topic to most, but I'll be documenting my frustrations and joys, and adding of each coin to this thread.
I hear you, it took me nearly 3yrs between 2013-2016 to upload my entire collection + want list on Numista. I tackled it by country and often it got so monotonous, I’d stop for weeks before I pushed myself to do it again. But ever since, it’s now a breeze to evaluate swap proposals and updates take just a few mins every other week. So I can definitely say it’s worth it
Yeah, I've found that the Google search for a coin usually brings up the Numista page as the first or second result. I guess that is a testament to how popular the site is. Luckily since I've decided to have a collection with a really narrow focus, it's really easy to stay on top of cataloguing them. I'm only buying 2 or 3 coins per month.
I loved listing my collection on numista. It gave me the chance to look at each coin as I listed. Every year when the new Krause comes out, I take several relaxing evenings of marking up my new catalogs with my collection. It isnt as sterile as it sounds...all of my coins have notes on them...where I got them, who owned the coin before me, what collection it's from, which family or friend gave it to me. And for me, whether it is a plate coin or not.

Keep on posting, please, the journey is the most exciting part of collecting. As I usually buy 2 or 3 coins per month, my journey isn't that exciting apparently :)
Thanks! Yes that rouble took me a LONG time to find, and in the end I even compromised my priniciples a bit (you see the slight wear/poor strike on the small eagles crowns)
I've added another one to the catalogue now (a newfoundland 5 cents) and am trying to add a 3rd but struggling.
