Was just looking at the numista page as I FINALLY got a rouble, and noticed I either seem to have paid wayyyy over the odds for it or people are grading roubles wrongly.
I'm seeing loads of members with these roubles listed as EF, so could we have a photograph or discussion etc about what an EF rouble looks like? (also if anybody has one for £30 I'll take it )
I own a pretty decent one from 1912. It has a mintage of 2 million so not that rare. Actually at that time the Ruble was already devalued by one third from 4 to 8/3 French LMU Francs, and as you might know 5 LMU Francs were always 25 grams of .900 silver. It's possible that Rubles from 1912 weren't used much in circulation as their intrinsic value was higher than 1 paper Ruble. On top of that World War I came soon after which soon saw all precious metals being hoarded.
