Hello everybody,

Can anybody help me with the identification of this coin?
Weight: 3.4 g
Diameter 13.7 mm
It is also quite thick (3-4mm I'd say)

Thanks for your help!
Bruno
This coin appears similar in style to some jitals of the Sultans of Sind, such as

and

https://www.zeno.ru/showphoto.php?photo=128753

However, it's not a match for either of these.

Cropping photos would make it easier to see details.

Hi! Is the crop of any help?
thanks! Bruno
Yes, the cropping certainly helps, though the details are still slightly blurry, as is normal for small coins. I checked in Zeno again and still didn't notice a match. I do have a suggestion. Many of the coins similar in weight and design to yours are "bull and horseman" types (which include many jitals of Sind). I recommend that you examine the coin in hand closely under magnification and see if it could possibly be a match for one of the many varieties of this type. There are several good threads for this if you search around.
Thanks, much appreciated. I'll search around.

You're very welcome. Here's one good thread on bull & horseman coins

The inscription above the bull only shows the ending part of 'Samanta Deva'. The image of the side with horseman is not very clear to attribute it to a certain type/ruler. Maybe its anonymous type jital.

Here is the link to pdf of main type catalog from Robert Tye's book - Jitals

The book is the best catalog for these coin types

…reopening this old thread

I'm fairly sure that on one side there's an elephant heading left. The other side is a mystery still. Any ideas?

Trying to attach some better pics

There is no elephant involved, that is just the back of a bull.

A-ah! Thanks for the clarification

I agree with the previuos assesment. It's clearly a bull and horseman Samanta Deva, but it was a quite popular design: https://en.numista.com/catalogue/index.php?r=samanta+deva&st=1-2&cat=y&im1=&im2=&ru=&ie=&ca=3&no=&v=&a=&dg=&i=&b=&m=p&f=&t=&t2=&w=3.2-3.6&mt=&u=&g=&c=&wi=&sw=

You need the text on the horseman side to further pinpoint things, but the lettering on that side is off the flan.

Another filter with almost all Tye Bull coins:

https://en.numista.com/catalogue/index.php?r=bull&st=1-2-3-154-5&cat=y&im1=&im2=&ru=&ie=&ca=53&no=*&v=&a=&dg=&i=&b=&m=&f=&t=&t2=&w=&mt=&u=&g=&c=&wi=&sw=

Thanks both for the help!
